My 200gsm paper seemed to fight against me in this one as I struggled to cover the white paper.  Perhaps softer pastels would have helped?  It looks ok from viewing distance though  ;D

Lovely, lovely aloe!  Well blended.

See, I told you that you would getting better with each attempt.  The aloes show your progress. 

I have never really attempted pastels, well except once with some 20 year-old hard pastels I found stored away.  Yikes, what an experience that was.  So, I cannot address whether the paper or the pastels gave you a bad experience on this one.

Not really able to see that you struggled.  Looks effortlessly done.
