Good job on the paint-along ladies.

Val well done on the charcoal sketch especially the trees.

Thank you one and all. Much appreciated. Seems I have finally found a way to keep up with Dennis!  :2funny:

:2funny: :2funny:  Val.  You don't get a good guy down! You've just made a tonal study  O0
In South Africa there is a well-known saying, "'n Boer maak 'n plan!" [ A Farmer makes a plan] all he needs is a pair of pliers and some fencing wire! ::)  You had the charcoal pencil  :yippee: Just be careful the slope on the left is too light.

Natalie, well done
JennyLynn,  well done for someone ill in bed and then just with pencils     Just remember to keep the "verticals" vertical O0
Patricia, also a nice cheery painting

:thankyou: :thankyou: :thankyou: Mea, JayJ, Jillh, Ray, Dennis for your nice comments.

Jennylynn, I hope that you will soon be well and over this darned flu. It is also going around here but it won't get me, that's for sure!!

Dennis, it is so strange for I have had that S.A. saying " 'n Boer maak 'n plan" on my mind for a week or more and everyday I have been saying it to myself and then you mentioned it.  Amazing.  Seeing pictures of the Harrismith mountain which is just so familiar to me, made me feel quite 'homesick'.  Anyway, it was a great lesson, thank you.

Managed to get as far as the grasses in the paint-along.  So doing better painting with Dennis.  I loved this lesson reminded me of many summers spent on my uncles stud farm outside Harrismith.  Wonderful memories!  hope I learned the techniques this week Dennis.

Jill, beautifully painted      Just watch out for the "soldiers in a row" with the trees in the background O0 A few red and bright yellow flowers in the foreground will make it pop.

Thanks Mea.   Dennis I will fix trees they are really aweful and brighten flowers.  They are there in the original however got washed out in the photo as did some of the lighter green that is in front of the Huts.

Still a bit sloppy but feeling a bit better about the chalks. . . .I realize now that I have forgotten to put in the people. . . oh-oh.
And it looks like one hut is round on one side and square on the other . . . . .oh well!!!!
I live to draw and paint, it a good thing that I don't have to draw and paint to live!
