Thanks, Val - the painting is going to be a sign from his district from the early 1900's with street cars running underneath it. He wants me to incorporate some of the elements of the new playground they're building in that community. As soon as I get both photos I'll post them and would love everyone's help in composition to start...

Today on my Facebook page, the mother of the young man in this painting that died sent me this message below:

"I just want to let you know how much this painting means to me and my family. I cried tears of appreciation and joy when I saw it. It is right at the entrance of our home so it is the first thing you see when you enter our home. with gratitude to you."

As Dennis recently posted ( and I'm paraphrasing) - a life dedicated to art is most definitely not a life wasted.  I'm so grateful to be an artist now and to know my art can be so meaningful to someone...
