:thankyou:Thanks Danielle and Lynne, I will do as suggested and try to show the shadows better, plus add the darks back in the little ones hair. I have found this one very difficult specifically that baby hair - I just can't seem to get it to look right.

Beautiful grandchildren!  You can just add a few more hairs and darken the top knot like in the photo.  But baby hair is baby hair.  Two of my children and three of my grandchildren barely had any hair when they were little.  CUTE!!!  ~Liz

Neil ..... love the portrait painting of your grandchildren.

You have captured their personalities and that " child innocence".   Great painting !!

Your family must be pleased I'm sure, but I can't help thinking how your grandchildren will feel, remembering this moment in time, and as they get older.  A treasure for sure !!

I think you are doing an amazing job Neil, certainly not in the "bin" category.

What is missing from the baby's hair are the fly away hairs like you have with the older girl. The "clumps" are there, so the fly away's are missing.

Then take a look at the shadows cast by the baby's face on the surroundings - on the wall bottom left of the face, the cast shadow on the neck can go a shade darker and then the tuft of hair below the right hand ear.

All these contrasts help to frame the face O0

Don't forget to post your final drawing Neil, anxious to see the retouch.
