Sharon I like you painting. Especially the atmosphere.
Selen another good painting.

Here is my version of this class. As I was working on it I realised that I knew this area well - it's a place called Camps Bay in Cape Town. I used to live round the other side of the mountain in a place called Hout Bay and I used to drive along this coastal road on my way to work every morning.
Just painting this bought back some really good memories of living here - thank you Dennis for a fun class.

As always suggestions comments and crits are welcome.
Cheers

Fiona it is lovely, i love your clouds and the pink in it. And the birds are beautifull. One suggestion, darken the rock in the foreground as it is closer.

Fi,
Great sky; beautiful ocean water.
But your seagulls steal the show. They are well-shaped and well-painted. You should do a seagull painting. You are so good at depicting them.
Oh, the water flowing in between the rocks looks a bit too circular. Maybe have it flowing at different angles.
Otherwise, it's so nice and it brings you happy memories - BONUS!

Thank you ladies for taking the time to comment on this one
Always appreciated.
Danielle I will darken the foreground rock to push the others back a bit - thanks for that one
Mea thanks for the comment on the circular wave thingy going on in the front - it was bothering me as well. That's an easy fix too. I might add a few seagulls around there to make more of a focal point as my eye seems to keep wandering off in circles over the painting (getting a bit dizzy
).
I'm really pleased with the way the sky turned out too - I'm loving the pink and I'm not a pink person at all
Will post updated pic when I have finished the alterations.
Cheers

Thank you Bellarina
Here we go - the revised painting using all the helpful suggestions
I think it looks a lot better now. The gulls on the beach are quite a bit lighter than in the photo, not sure why they look so dull here.

Any further suggestions are gratefully received.

Yes, Fi. You did a good job removing the circular water. The new seagulls are wonderful.
What a lovely spot.
