May Lynn, the problem with your sea are not the formation of the waves but the tops.  It is all the evenly spaced stripes. Every one of them look exactly the same where in real life each one is different from each other. Smear some of them into groups.

You need to make some of the "roll-overs" smaller that others and a few of the bigger. Just be careful in not spacing them like "soldiers in a row".

The rest of your painting is TOPS

My first attempt at posting a drawing and doing seascapes in pastel.
Had trouble with the dark's in the cliff side.
Any suggestions are welcome.

Thank you Dennis, Val and Happychappy. I appreciate your comments and encouragement.
I used to fool around with pastel when I was younger, in fact, I used some of my 50 year old pastels on this drawing.
I so glad that I joined Paintbasket. The instructors are great and the members are very supportive.
 :thankyou:

Natalie persuaded me to post in the forum.  I have no idea what I am doing so I hope this works.  I am really enjoying pastels, I didn't think I would until my husband bought me some really soft pastels for mothers day.  Before that I couldn't blend, just a bunch of blurry lines :)
