May lynn, i realy like the waves and shore ones they look powerfull do not tough that.  For the cloudesI to find hard, maybe just you finger smodging would soften it.   Love your colours and rocks. :yippee:

May,

I was intimidated by clouds, too.  Then I spent a lot of time looking at them and found out that every sky is completely different.

That gives you a lot of leeway in creating your own sky.

May Lynn, listen to Mea for she is the Queen of clouds and does the most superb pink clouds imagineable, something that I have never forgotten.

Looks great MayLynn-don't sweat your clouds-they look good.  We are all learning.

Thank you, Danielle, Mea, and Patricia, for your insight.  Danielle, I took your advice and reworked the clouds with
more smudging and irregular shapes.

Mea and Patricia, interesting that you should talk about more observations of cloud formations.

I  recently started to take note of cloud formations to see if there is any consistent
patterns that I can rely on.   I found that patterns variety so much that I can't fix
weather moods to particular shapes, colours or tonal changes to create believable images, moods or time of day.

I live in an outdoor environment (in a country setting, near the sea) therefore, I will take the next
few months to practice sketching scenarios of different  skies.

Thank you all for your thoughts.   :thankyou:

May lynn

May Lynn, your sea ia very well executed with lots of spill onto the shore    Take Danielle's advice and smudge the clouds softly together to form a mass of clouds that look more stormy O0

Dennis and Danielle;

I watched the replay again.   I reworked the clouds to what is
called "MUD' and then I wiped everything that I could off and
started over again.   I really want to get the difficulty of painting
believable clouds licked.

Next weeks lesson #18 is on a larger sheet of paper and if it turns out
well I would like to hang it in our front room over the mantle.  I know the clouds
will be the determining factor as to this happening.

Thank you all for your comments and help!

Wow, Jillh, that's an angry sea.  Lots of drama there.  Beautiful blues.  Nice sky.
