LOL Nolan!
Of course I was jesting and I know that you all were too! I just needed an excuse to use those two smilies!
Yes, I'd love to post the photo as it's so lovely, then you can see what I mean. The horizon isn't even straight...
I've not varnished it yet as I wanted to see what you all though and how I could try to improve him.
Yes Val his shoulder, I know, what a palaver. In the photo the sun is so low behind him, it's a '70's photo so very raw as it were but I think that's what threw me. I can't see how I can fix his shoulder though, I know it goes out too far.
I did a lot better with the koala though, I'll put him up now.
You're all waving white flags and apologising, I'm so embarrassed now!
Sara was right, my sense of humour fits in here quite well I'll have you all know...
His front leg...
Do you mean his upper leg? His lower leg? His uppers are his arms and his lowers are his legs, a bit like us... Ah yes, could be the light and shade... I'll post up the pic so you can see what I was up against...
it was the photographers fault...
Thank you ALL for your kind and funny comments and for the great advice, I really do appreciate it very much and this forum and you all have helped me more than I can say.

Right Susan... now we know for sure you're as batty as the rest of us....
the gloves come off!
Since I've not experience with the acrylics yet, I can't really advise you. Perhaps one of the smarties will have a suggestion for you.
Lovely little joey...always look so cuddly. Shame they sleep so much, makes it difficult to get decent photos of them. Love them anyway.

Ok Val, the gloves are off!
And Sara, what do you mean my sense of humour comes out in my paintings?? What are you trying to say?? Ok, gloves off for you now too...
I can't believe I gave you all a scare, what with two little smilies??
You guys made ME scared suggesting I was serious!!! Yikes!!!
Anyway, back to the job in hand! Interesting comment there Sara, because when I started painting back in April, one thing that came to me is that I'd love to create a serious landscape with a funny looking animal poking his head around a tree or some such thing! You know, something unexpected, give people the impression I'm one of these, serious artists'.. you know the type... (which of course I'd love to be but without the snoots) and then, while someone's standing admiring my perfect landscape..
there's this roo poking his head around with a wry smile on his face, or licking his lips or something, and they gasp because they don't expect that, so you have really touched on something there, you picked that up, good for you. Are you pysychic??
Thank you Nolan!! Lollypops..
Yes, they really did didn't they! Glad you liked the koala though and so glad you could see a difference in the trees, I'm very relieved about that!
Ok then thank you all again..
And really, yes, I'm as batty as.. er.. the rest of you!!!!

I think the Donk-a-Roo would be the best for your 'serious' landscape... OR an even more rare than the rarer Donk-a-roo.... the RooKey!

Ok.... Roonkey = Roomkey
Even though they are magnetic cards, they are still considered 'keys' as they unlock something.

Just goes to show you that us artists are an odd lot!
Who wants to be conventional, anyway?
Susan, can you paint a kick-boxing roo?
