Thank you Retta or is it Bella for your comment. I just read it.

Decided to take a break from the beach scenes to try my hand at a pet portrait in pastels...I'm just so floored by the ones others are doing in this medium! Please let me know if there's something I can do to make this better...thanks!
Cheers,
Sharon

Sharon,

Looks really good except for the soldiers-in-a-row whiskers.  Are they really that stiff and evenly spaced?  I don't have a dog so don't know.

Love the eyes - so shiny and deep.

Good work as usual.  You must have brought one suitcase just for art supplies.

Good catch on the whiskers, Mea - I'll correct that and repost. And yes, I did bring a bag with my painting supplies - but we've been so busy I haven't been able to paint nearly as much as I hoped.  Now we're in the villa where it's a bit more remote I'm hoping to get through a few more pastel lessons!
Cheers,
Sharon

Thanks, Natalie! Added a bit more to the whiskers to make them look less like soldiers!
Cheers,
Sharon

Well done Sharon!  You are definitely getting the hang of these pastels.  I love his sad eyes and his ears look soft and silky.

Sharon, overall very well executed    His whiskers are just very wild - he needs to go to the barber for a moustache trim :2funny: Check the photo you can hardly see the whiskers O0

OK - I'll find a barber here in Puerto Vallarta and will repost once he's had a trim!

Sharon

;D  Nicely done Sharon and I know he'll be quite dapper after his trim.... just watch out for that 'pencil thin mustache'!   ;)
