I have attempted to complete the shadow on my strawberries painting twice and both times I seem to have gotten nearly the same results.
I need some additional practice with shadows. I did okay with the apples but this was more difficult for me. Any suggestions on other practice pieces would be appreciated.

Your painting is looking great so far :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:

What you want to is continue to add the highlight detail to the front strawberry, all the way to the tip.Remember that shadows are dark against the object and then dissipate the further away from the object they are. Look carefully at the shadows on my painting to see the effect O0

Here is a photo of my updated strawberries painting. It is amazing the difference with the darkened shadows.

I was restricted with the colours of the lesson. A friend had some old (20 years) tubes she gave to me a while ago. My reds are Magenta and Cad Scarlet. Pthalo Green which I didn't use, mixed my own with Ultra and Cad Yellow Light.

Really loved this lesson and have started the Apples.
Now to buy the colours in the tutorials.

Great job with the acrylics, Bill. Your strawberries look delicious. I’m looking forward to seeing the apples you paint.
