You can get people to sign up on your FB page Susan, is that what you are trying to do?

Nolan, eventually I will be making my paintings (and prints) available for sale on Fine Art America. In conjunction with that, I will also be setting up a Facebook page. I do not have plans to set up any other web page other than those two. I would like to have the ability to notify people (Facebook friends and others, for whom I have e-mail addresses) when I add new work. I don't know how Mailchimp works.

mailchimp is basically a bulk email service which lets you send emails to those that have signed up to the list, like our newsletter. People need to subscribe themselves to the list. You are not going to be able to send emails to anybody from Facebook or FAA like that Susan. You need to get them to sign up to your mailchimp list first
