Wow, Lynn, your portraits are absolutely stunning. They are so realistic looking. I love the way you did your model's hair which is so natural looking and your male model is so well done too. I admire your work tremendously.

Oh, this sounds like a wonderful opportunity to hone your skills. So exciting.
The woman's hair is beautiful. Great smile, skin, eyes. WOW!

It's Mardi Gras today and I am paraded out so as usual am using this day off of work to paint!!!! This is WIP of a class project for Alan Flattman's class. This is his photo of a bourbon street musician. I need to adjust shape and value of beard, put a more relaxed bend in the elbow etc etc. This is on my homemade granular paper. Very gritty.

My internet died out earlier during a nasty blow, my remarks didn't make it through on your earlier post. Oh bother. Suffice it to say the remarks were all good and as usual I am flabbergasted by the level your constant improvement.
This musician fellow is astoundingly good so far. I see where the beard is in need of refining, an easy fix for you I am certain. The subtle bend in the arm will make a big difference as well. He's coming on brilliantly and I can't wait to see him completed.

Thanks so much Mea, Zilpa and Dennis. This guy is quite the character. I did some revisions on beard, black lens, color of overall and background. I am going to crop like this as I like it better. What do you think?

Another amazing piece of work, Lynn. I marvel at the clarity of the little metal gizmos that hold up his pants. How realistic the pocket flap on his jeans looks. The beard, nose!
Every detail flawlessly done.
Oh, so good!.

No worries Lynn.
Every time I see one of your works they continue to take my breath away, and this fellow is no exception. Even Lloyd has passed it with his stamp of approval! He is not an easy critic!

Been away for months with house repairs which are still ongoing. Hi everyone and can see I missed so much. Back to life drawing with this one. Just got news that the pastel portrait of my mother was accepted in the 17th Biennial National Exhibit of the Degas Pastel Society. I was honestly shocked but delighted. Show is in October, near New Orleans so I will get to go.

Lynn, this simple portrait is truly stunning. I love that you chose to do this in gold tones.
And

Oh! Lynn, it is lovely to see your work again, I have missed you. As per usual, your life painting of the boy is beautiful and CONGRATULATIONS on your Mother's portrait being accepted for the National Exhibit in New Orleans. Wonderful news.
