well done Deanna, great job on the squirrel and horse. I have two suggestions to improve :

Squirrel : darken his back (right hand side) slightly and lighten the right hand edge of his front leg slightly. This will reduce the amount of contrast between the leg and body to help with the tie in between them.

Horse: just work a little more on the shadows in the drawing. I have shown you where below. Other than that you have done a superb job.

Looking forward to seeing the improved versions  O0

looking good so far Dianne :clap:

Your problem is on the mouths. The shapes are now quite correct, eg., your DH's top lip doesn't appear as wide on the photo as on the drawing. Check them again with the grid.

Once you continue to add shadings to the rest of the faces, you will have a great portrait study O0
