In looking for a mahlstick, I came across this product. It's $30 at Jerry's Artarama.
http://www.jerrysartarama.com/discount-art-supplies/painting-supplies/mahl-sticks/ez-rest-painting-handrest.htmIt is saving the life of this artist whose steadiness of hand is declining. An amazing tool.

However, there are no instructions for installation and it is not intuitive at all. So I highly recommend it only if you are a skilled handyperson with the mind of an engineer and the patience of Job, or if you know someone who is!

It took several days of trial and error and a modification of my French easel, but I did it!

Just remember you must have a 2" area on the side of your easel below the tray to attach the block. It can also attach to a table for drawing/painting.
