Thankyou MaryLou, Mine is just a tiny bush, but there are great trees just loaded all around the neighbourhood. Along with all of the other brilliant colours of flowers over walls and planters.... Mexico is such a treat for the senses!    :painting: :painting: :painting:

I decided to have a muck about and experiment in the weee hours of this morning. Here's the result of an over tired mind painting with no thoughts as to the outcome...

Learned quite a bit about moving colours about on the sanded paper. This was a scrap left from the poinsetta painting. (white fine grit Premier paper)

Thanks Mea.  My favourite part were the highlights which for some reason aren't showing up very well.... and I did such a good job there as well... :2funny: :2funny:
Just noticed the colours in the sky haven't shown well either.  Never mind, on to the next one!  :painting:

This looks really good for an experiment. The sky looks great.

Good experiment    The straight skyline worries me. The eye zips too fast along it from the left. Add some protrusions about the 1/3 mark to slow the eye down and balance out the  moon/sun  O0 A good piece of music has soft and loud sections  ;)

 Hmmm, seems some of my replies to the poinsettia didn't post.   :tickedoff:   Probably hit the wrong enter key!

Dennis, funny you should mention 'duck'... I've just noticed the red bit in upper right hand corner looks quite 'duck like' if you tilt your head!  ;D
Patricia, thanks so much for your kind words, excelling is what I hope to do!  O0
EmmaLee, always appreciate your comments. Always gives me a lift.  :)

Thank you EmmaLee, I'll be experimenting a lot more with skies. Can't wait to have a crack at one of my sunrise/sunsets.  :painting:

Ta Dennis, I'll have another look at that and see what I can do to break it up a bit. I find it amazing at just how light a touch one needs to work with these pastels, I did lose some of the blues... guess I 'shmooshed' them a bit too much!       ;D

Ta Gita, the one I'm working on now may be a bit above my pay grade!  :eyesclosed:   If one doesn't push, one doesn't advance. Bit of an uphill battle but getting there...
