Lisa--I love this painting.  This is one of my favorite places on earth.  I used to hike in Sedona once a year and have been around Cathedral Rock a bunch.  You captured the shape and colors perfectly.  Actually, I have played golf on this course and it is stunning.  Wonderful job!!!

My friend Florence is battling cancer.  I only see her a few times a year and we recently met up to play golf.  I showed her some things I had painted and she took her phone out and asked it I could paint this picture she had recently taken.

Oh Lisa - this is beautiful! What a precious gift to give to your friend. I bet it will give her enormous comfort as she struggles to get healthy. I really love the sky. The bottom is a bit dark - is that a road? So glad she asked you to paint this.
Cheers,
Sharon

Lisa you did some very nice colourfull clouds.  It is hard to see the bottom of your painting because we see your reflection in it.  Maybe a picture without the glass.

:thankyou: Retta, Sharon and Danielle.  Yes that is my shadow in the phot.  The photo was taken at a bottom of a hill looking up and so there is a lot of darkness, just grass, almost all black.  I cut quite a bit out and thought of changing it somehow because it was so dark but then I thought the darkness is really a part of the image where she is now in her journey she's in the process of climbing that hill.

Beautiful as it also has significant atmosphere.   Reminds me of the song, "On a hill far away..."

:thankyou:Christina,  :thankyou:Dennis  :thankyou:Steven.  for your wonderful comments.  This painting will be delivered to my friend this weekend.     Thanks for everyone's support.  It is so helpful, especially when you are a little nervous giving one of your paintings to some one.
