Inside the shadowbox

I have been trying different things out in my shadowbox to find a nice stilllife to paint.
What do you guys think of this one?
I thought of taking the left part off.

Dirk,
I like all but the overpowering coffee pot. Was the satin (pretty!) backdrop supposed to go all the way around?
I think a still life with those pinks will be very pretty. I want the dessert when you are done.

Thanks Mea.
I used my shirt for the backdrop, but it was not big enough to go all the way round.
Sorry, I ate the dessert myself after I took the picture.

Dirk i too though the cofee pot was over powering, maybe you want to play arround with the objects. In the painting I would lose the fork in the plate. Maybe you could have a candle instead of the cofee pot. I like the glow it gives.

Thanks Danielle. So the pot is out. (It is actually a tea pot). The candle is a great suggestion.
It is really helpful to get some imput, much better than figuring it all out by yourself.

I like the composition.
It'll be challenging but I think you're up for it. This will be brilliant.

My hubby and I enjoyed it so much to build this shadow box and in between the fights and lots of coffee (and smokes) we did it.

Thank Robin, Danielle and Mea. Mea I will never be able to paint that, why don't you try it?

Louisa, I don't think I have as much natural ability as you do. It has far too many details for me at least for now.
You can do it - I'm sure of that.

Nicely done Louisa. If you aren't going to paint it-you really should-share it in the photo section!
