Attempt #2, in progress. Shadows I think are slightly better. Dark leaves look nicer too. Need to relook at the bottom leaf, and finish the stem.

Thanks Nolan.
I've been looking at it today. It looks very flat. The back leaf needs to go way back, and its curled tip even more so. Maybe the bottom leaf should overlap the petal more. Would like it to look a bit more twisted. Also need to follow a reference photo more closely for the gap between the front petals. I am happy with the front leaf though.

Kevin, I don't want you to be too hard on yourself in the beginning. As long as you understand the concepts in each lesson, the fine tuning will automatically come as you progress through the lessons.

Nice tulip, and you already tried to adapt by doing a yellow and blue one. I admire you for that. I stick to the lesson as close as possible, hoping that after I have some technique under my belt, I will be able to start adapting.
So good for you, keep posting your work.

Mark,
How sweet of you to remember someone with such a lovely tulip. Excellent blending.

Before I get up the courage to try the waterdrops, I thought I'd post the tulip painting as in for any feedback!
