Lovely tulip.  Very smooth blending.

It"s beautiful, Sharon.  Water drops are a lot easier than they look. :gl:

Thanks Mea and Judy! Oils are really challenging for me - but I'm plowing through! The scariest part was sketching out the image! Not enjoying the turpentine smell but I do love the vibrancy of the colors. Judy - I'll give those drops a go tomorrow!
Cheers,
Sharon

You did a great tulip Sharon.  Yes waterdrops are fun to do.  Don't be afraid.
I use Artizan water mixable paint by Winsor Newton, it is excellent for us artist allergic to the solvants.   As your paint diminish you could replace them with that type.  You clean your brushes with a soap called the masters' brush cleaner and preserver.

Thanks for the tips, Danielle! I'll definitely buy that brand as my current supply dissipates. And nice to know there's an option to turpentine. It's really nasty stuff!

Sharon

Sharon,

Water drop looks good.  I am water-drop challenged, so I really admire you for doing one.

Beautiful tulip with a perfect waterdrop, Sharon!

I am happy with my Eco-House #125 odourless thinner, as turp. Works well.  But don't forget it is just as volatile.  Use same precaution with good ventilation of your room.  Not smelling it doesn't mean you are not breathing in the fumes.

I don't leave my jar open when I work, I loosely put the lid on without closing it.

My daughter use the watersoluble oil from W&N.  Another  advantage is that when you travel by air, you can put your paint tubes in the checkin luggage and when you arrive you don't have to rush finding a store that sale turp!
Cheers, Annie

Was it not fun to do the water drop.   Well done,  don't you just want to put water drops all over, just because it is so much fun.
