The moment you find yourself mostly satisfied with a painting and think you'll "just quickly" do this or that, that's the moment to stop completely. Take the painting off your easel and put it aside for at least 24 hours, then reassess whether it really needs that tweak.

Nolan, liked the show. I am realizing more and more that just doing it reinforces your memory alot more than notes do because of the familiarity. I like the great idea of using that tile for a palette, then freezing the paints. Unfortunately, I have a "box" type palette (from the art store) with a lid, but their's way too much air space in it to preserve paints long.
Great idea for the small mixes first, before large. Again...practice doing it.
I didn't realize you guys had cold weather there.. thought you lived in the tropics.

i know Sara, but it's pretty impractical to do with it. It's about the size of a 14 x 18 inch canvas (too large for the fridge) and it's about 1.5 inches in depth, so all I could do is lay the wrap on to the paint rather than really make it a tight fit.

We have just had the coldest snap in 80 years Pat, but it still didn't go below zero :D

You acclimatise, so the cold is all relative to what you are used to.

They say their really is NO climate warming. I believe it. Probably a sunspot cycle. We had this about 100 years ago too. That's better than climate warming!

I may be watching tomorrow!  :yippee: I pick up my computer tomorrow and they even think they may be able to save my data. Trying not to get too excited..... :yippee:  :cheering:  :tooth:  :pray:  :parachute: I did say I was trying!  :D
 :cold: Crikey... I had forgotten there was a 0 ! Bbbbbbrrrrrrr   We have cooled down a bit today... :sweat: only 30celcius.....yesterday was warmer.... even the sea is starting to feel like a bathtub!  :heeha:

Mind if I sit in and listen to the cold weather stories?

We have broken all records for this summer in Texas. Worst so far is 65 Days above 100 degrees. Today I went to get some more  paint and a new pallete knife. Temp on the thermo, 107 degrees. Painting is keeping me sane right now.

I welcome and amonut of rain or cold you can send our way.

Smokie, that would be considered a mild summer around these parts. It was above 110 today with about 70% humidity.  It's wonderful because it means less people are out and about doing crazy things. :crazy2:
