Looking good Smokie, off to a flying start :clap:
PS - I changed your photo so it's not so big  ;D by using the bbc embed code O0

Here is my tulip so far. I didn't stand back during the show so I can now see the left petal needs more blending and because of the transparency of the Sap Green, the leaves will need a second coat. But I am going to leave it as is and show everybody how to do these changes on a "dry" canvas next week O0


Looking forward to seeing everybody's paintings  :painting:

Nolan/Dennis, can you tell me when the last show is available as a recording?

The moment you find yourself mostly satisfied with a painting and think you'll "just quickly" do this or that, that's the moment to stop completely. Take the painting off your easel and put it aside for at least 24 hours, then reassess whether it really needs that tweak.

Sara, I remember Nolan didn't have it edited yet, but it was available on youtube "as is". Otherwise, I wouldn't have asked for it this soon. I know they are busy.

I have the video edited and currently uploading to Youtube, so still a few hours. The file is 6Gig, so it takes a while  :crazy2:

well done Anita, love the texture, moulding and the colours. I do feel you can still darken the shadows some more at the bottom of the flower. Doing that will increase the roundness of the flower even more.

Hi all

The lights in my tulip greyed quite a bit on drying (acrylics).  I used a mixing white to make my light purple, would I have had a better result using titanium white?

Mixing white is a more transparent white, so you could find that as the paint dries the colour change between wet and dry paint will differ more than when using an opaque white like titanium white
