I did this painting for a friend... I had really hard time with the ribbon... I wonder if there is a method to paint such a thing.... I'm not really happy with it, but she likes it very much so that's all that matters... I'm looking to improve so any comments welcome...

Thanks !!!

John,

This wreath is very nice.  It has a "Love me - take me home" character about it.

The ribbon looks better than what I could do.

Very nice John,   you may want to add just a hint of tonal value where the ribbon meet in the center to show the depth but the whole painting is very beautifull.  :yippee:

I like what you done with the ribbon
What you could do it just increase the contrast on the roundings on the bow itself, that will show it curls even more. The hanging down bits are fine O0

Yes... the checker board pattern was just a little too much for me to get perfect... I wondered as I was doing it if acrylic paint pens are ever used for such things and if I may have more control? I've seen Liquitex Paint Pens in the store but have never used them... Next time I'll paint the ribbon with more contrast so it looks a little more 3 dimensional...

Has anyone here used paint pens with their painting? would that be an option for super detail?

I have not tried them, but I am sure they will give you the detail no problem. They should be great for signing your name too
