Well as Nolan says, the painting can only be as good as the drawing!  I had endless trouble trying to draw this freehand and in fact ended up painting it onto the canvas and adjusting as I went along.  Having had thoughts of throwing it out umpteen times along the way, quite pleased with how it eventually turned out!

you have done a wonderful job Fiona :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:
If you were battling with the drawing work, why didn't you redraw it using the grid method?

Ms. Fig,

Lovely gerbera.  Pretty shade of pink.  Velvety petals.  Beautiful background.

Center of the flower (whatever the technical name for it is - the pin cushiony thing) might look better with a bit of dark.

Otherwise, so lovely.

:thankyou:  Mea, Jayj, Bellarina, Mcwren, Val, Louisa and NOLAN.

NOLAN my first attempt was on the grid, but my eyes just weren't able to follow all the lines!! :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:  it's a DOB (date of birth) thing, you probably have a few years to go!! :2funny: :2funny: :help:  I think if there is a next time it will have to be a trace job!
