Thanks Dennis and everyone else for the advice.  I just keep struggling with the backgrounds!!   :tickedoff: :tickedoff:  I will try more water and darken up the background.  Will also add shadows on the stems.

I do hope you'll repost after you darken up the background, Sherri - I love your flowers and they'll really stand out against a deep, dark blue...
Cheers,
Sharon

Hi all,

With spring in the air, the daffodils shooting up in staffordshire, Birthday cards needed, I decided to use the daffodil class. What do you think?

Lovely daffodils (Hmmm...what's the difference between narcissus and daffodils??).

I'll bet they are prettier than the photos shows them to be.

Oh, Leanne, I just read what I wrote and saw that it could be misinterpreted.

I meant that YOUR painting of the daffodils probably looks better than it came out as a photo.  As I am looking at the photo, it looks kind of whited out.  I'm sure the painting is brighter.

Dont worry  mea, i knew  what  you meant.

The daffs have been and gone in what was sunny staffordshire but we now  have  a  late frost and very very cold nights. Still for mothersday the painting brings  are great .

Very well done Annie  O0   Especially like the translucence in the white petals and the frilly bit around the trumpet.
