Nice job on the painting.  My suggestion for improvement would be to make the clouds more prominent.
Also the cracks in the wood could be darker.
I would suggest for you to study the reference photograph taking note to the highlights.
Hope this helps, these are just my opinions, im not the instructor, so if Dennis thinks you just need to add more highlights on the bird heads, than i would just do that.  I am new to watercolor painting, hope some experienced watercolor students can jump in and add their opinions.  This has helped me to spot areas of improvement.
Overall i think you did a great job with this class.

One other little suggestion would be to add tonal value on the right side of the trunck that will give you rounding and darken the knot in the trunck.  Hope this helps
