Dennis...are you working with 15" X 22" paper after you cut your sheet?
I want to work as close to size wise as you are.
Thanks,

I did not do any trimming after I cut the sheet in half. The tiled template is made for that size with some room to spare around the sides for matting the size of the frame if you want to frame it. Soon I'll frame my set and hang in the lounge

Just to be clear, the paper used for this is cold pressed 300lb paper?
Please confirm, is it possible to use Hot Press paper for this lesson?
Many thanks

Robin, any paper 260lb (356 gsm) and above is suitable for the size of the template supplied. I used the 425 gsm just because I had some available. Anything below this weight and size should be stretched otherwise it will buckle. Yes, you may use hot pressed paper. It is smoother and suitable for when you want very fine detail.
In the class situation I use 140lb CP but not larger than 12"x16". Even then it can buckle if not careful. In anything larger than this the buckle will become very obvious.

Dennis
I have been using watercolor blocks.
140lb. They have been working great
for me no buckles and no creased corners
From moving the paper around.
I was really just more interested in the
Hot press or Not paper.
Looks like you prefer the Not (cold press)
paper, so I will use the same. Thank you
Again.

Dennis, I was looking into the PDF and these discussions for the paper size needed to paint this course, and I could not find the dimensions. I do not have the chance to listen to the taped class until next week when I will finally be home. In the mean time I would like to order the paper. Would all of the painting in this course will be done on the same size paper? It will be good for me to know before I place the order. Thank you,

I have taken a 22"x30" sheet and cut it into two (each 15"x22")
Don't try and reduce the size of the paintings - smaller means lots of fiddling with small brushes and you will not not get the full benefit of the lessons. Enjoy

Hey Mea, have you tried "One Shot" yet? they are on Waiakamilo. It's a huge warehouse type art supply store. I'm hoping they have wc sheets as I'm on my last piece right now.
