Since we will be using the water brush and watercolor pencils in this course, I decided I needed to practice before I do my next flower.
Don't know why I chose a tree trunk instead of a flower or leaf to practice on, but here it is anyway. Comments welcomed.
I tried to incorporate some of the techniques from my first two flower paintings in this course. I bought an inexpensive Sakura Koi water brush with a small-size brush on it. (round #2). Now that I see the value of the brush, is there a better brand to buy and what sizes will I need most?
I read the tutorial for the anthruium class, but did not dare to start it until I had some water brush practice. Maybe I'll practice one of the flowers and leaves before I start the painting.
I am learning that it is not smart to jump right into a painting. I need to be very sure I know what I am going to do before I begin.
Now for me it's more about learning the technique than painting the picture.
