I did the drawing of the cosmos flowers yesterday, but don't know where to post it.
Today I tried water color pencils.  I had a bad accident almost 2 weeks ago and twisted my ankle.   :'(

So far I crocheted 10 beanies for the homeless and 2 scarves.  Luckily Nolan had a drawing lesson to give me something else to do, but I am mending (my foot is mending).

Liz,

Sorry about the ankle.  Hope it's better soon.

Love the cosmos drawing.  Nice background, too.

:thankyou: Mary Anne and Natalie for your well wishes.  I think I'll be able to walk a little better in a couple of days so I can go to our condo Christmas party.  My hubby is getting weary being nursemaid.  Real nice talking to you today MAL!  I am waiting for the 'specials'!  I never looked at HOME before on PB.

Hope you're doing better Liz, no fun being stuck with your leg up.

Lovely work on the cosmos. One thing I would look at is a few more darks in the shadowed areas. Use those values to make it "POP" !!!  :yippee:
Cheers, Val

Well done, very pretty.
Hope your ankle heals up fast and you are up and  :run: soon.
It does sound as though taking you off your feet has kept your hands really busy.
:santa: Those beanies will be appreciated no doubt!

:) MAL, while I was looking at the SPECIALS I 'accidentally' got enrolled in the Free Intro. to Pastels!  I don't know how that happened so I need to go out and buy some soft pastels.  I have 3 sets of oil pastels, but Emily likes the dry ones and took them all to her home!
:) VAL, thanks for your helpful suggestion.  I'm new at this drawing business and think in terms of contrasts, forgetting to pay attention to shadows, i.e. not even know what I'm doing except for 'doing art therapy'!
:) LIANA, thanks for your cheerful comments.  Drawing with pencils is a far different and welcome change from the constant thumb-needle grip and no arm and wrist motion used with a crochet needle.  I am half way to my goal of 2 dozen.  Older people take longer to mend, but I don't expect to take 3 months as a friend of mine did!  ::)

Great job, Liz! Very pretty. I agree that some darks would really add some pop to the drawing.

Sorry about the ankle, get well soon.

Regards,

Carol

:thankyou: NOLAN, VAL & CAROL for your comments!  I brushed over with water some parts between petals and around the flower very gingerly to darken these places.  Since this was on sketch book paper I was afraid it would begin to buckle so when I filled in the background I left the water out.  I don't know if the background should have been darker?

:thankyou: BELLA & JAY!  I hope I start feeling better, too!  My right leg ached today from compensating for the bad side,  from not using my cane and staying off my feet more.    :nono:   I  need to find something to draw!

For some reason the 2nd photo came out looking dull, but the cosmos is really brighter in color.
