How pretty, Mary Lou! Love the softness to your background, behind the trees. Just a few small things: Perhaps the shadow on the side of the building could fade away a bit more toward the bottom? And I notice a white patch of paper between the 2 fences that would likely be in the shade. Could you make your black between the spokes of the wheel just a tad darker?

Well done, Mary Lou - it will be interesting when you take a photo of your revisions if the shadows on the buildings become more muted...i think it's so cool you got to do this with 2 different mediums - and did them both so well!
Cheers,
Sharon

You have all done a wonderful job on the Old Mill! I am looking forward to trying this one after I get back to Ontario. The Old Mill is a familiar sight for me as it is located near where I grew up! :) Those interesting rails are actually formed out of concrete, believe it or not!

Here is my revision.  I have toned down the shadows on the mill, darken the darks and put a bit more blue in the stream.

Mary Lou,

This mill painting is very nice now.  The mill wheel looks really good.

Thank you Danielle, Dennis, Pinnuccia and Robin. Thanks Dennis for this lesson.   I have learned a bit more again and I like how you did the trees.  This is one of my favorite paintings that I have done.
