How pretty, Mary Lou! Love the softness to your background, behind the trees. Just a few small things: Perhaps the shadow on the side of the building could fade away a bit more toward the bottom? And I notice a white patch of paper between the 2 fences that would likely be in the shade. Could you make your black between the spokes of the wheel just a tad darker?

Well done, Mary Lou - it will be interesting when you take a photo of your revisions if the shadows on the buildings become more muted...i think it's so cool you got to do this with 2 different mediums - and did them both so well!

You have all done a wonderful job on the Old Mill! I am looking forward to trying this one after I get back to Ontario. The Old Mill is a familiar sight for me as it is located near where I grew up!
Those interesting rails are actually formed out of concrete, believe it or not!

Here is my revision. I have toned down the shadows on the mill, darken the darks and put a bit more blue in the stream.

Thank you Danielle, Dennis, Pinnuccia and Robin. Thanks Dennis for this lesson. I have learned a bit more again and I like how you did the trees. This is one of my favorite paintings that I have done.
