I thought I would give the portrait drawing ago.  My husband's father died quite unexpectedly January 6th and so getting back to lessons has been slow, and now I'm a little nervous since it's been so long.  I would appreciate any hint to improve   Its nice to be back

:bigwelcome:   Welcome back, sorry to hear of your troubles.  The only thing I'd concern myself with is the roundness of the iris, and the placement of the pupil.  Very well done, you haven't missed a beat!  O0

Therese,
Sad to hear about your father-in-law's passing.

The eye looks beautiful.   Val is right about the pupil.

If you'd done that eye on a face, it'd look great! Just a few tiny tweaks to improve the central roundness of the iris and, contrast on the pupil (a bit darker) and you've cracked it. Well done

sorry to hear about your loss :flowers:

The eye looks great, just don't be scared of going darker next time O0

PS - each class (eye, nose, etc.) has it's own topic, please post your drawings there next time O0
