Thanks, Nolan.  This was a fun class.  It was the first time I used my new rigger brush.  Need more practice with that.  Used it to write my initials in cursive for the first time on an oil painting.

I had to put a full tree on the right side to hide the mess I made with the half-dead tree.  My big trees should have not been so wide as I was using a smaller canvas than you.  Path is too small.

It's not perfect but I learned a lot.  Feel good about my trees.  Need more work on little people.

But, I still feel good about it because my colors are bright and as Sharon would say, "The tree trunks pop!"

Anything else?

Hope more of you do this one - you'll really like it.

  Mea,

I like the foliage colors, bright and cheery. Only thing I could suggest is variation of tree trunk shades/value.

Thanks, Robin.  It's good to evaluate before I post so you folks don't think I don't know what is wrong. LOL

Thanks, Natalie.  This one was really fun.

Thanks, Sherri.  Enjoyed doing the autumn trees.

Thanks, Vjah.  OK, I see what you mean.  I'll  work on those trunks today.

Thanks, Sharon.  It's good to be versatile because of time constraints and mobility.  Can't bring the oils on the bus!  I may try that same scene in watercolor to see the difference.

Nolan,

You have such a good eye.  Only the yellow leaves I did with a knife.  Oh, now I see the difference.  Will go back and touch up the others with a knife.  Wow, it does make a big difference.  I was too sleepy last night to notice.

You are right - go slow at the end to get the little details right.

This was a really good class.  Glad I did it.  Another great learning experience.

Very nice painting Mea,      For the path it is the perspective you did not do (bigger at the front and smaller in the distance.)

Louisa,

Your Autumn Walk came out very good.  The bottom of your tree trunks came out better than mine.

The leaves, especially the yellow ones, on the ground under the tree on the left could use some toning down as they are in the shade.  Mine were too toned down and yours seem too bright.  Sounds like we are like Jack Sprat and Mrs. Sprat - too fat and too lean.

I hope a few others do Autumn Walk soon because it's fun to have other works to compare/contrast.

Wonderful job!
