Thanks much everybody, I appreciate your opinions (especially when it's unanimously favourable!
) I shall keep scribbling and rubbing until complete.

Is it safe to come out? .......
I came across this the other night and well....
I did promise I'd finish it. Don't get too excited.... it's not there yet. I know it's been over a year and I do solemnly promise it WILL be done before THIS year's end! Just kidding...well one can hope!
Actually I saw the pastel lesson for the swan today!
WOW, I want to do that!
No I must finish this before I move on.
I have worked on this a bit today and just thought I'd prove I'm in earnest.

Thanks much all
I was up even more than usual last night (very loud electrifying thunderstorm), so spent another few hours working the doorway.
I don't have any grey pencils. it was a challenge mixing greys for the rocks, but I'm finding the larger areas of the door a serious challenge.
Just haven't happened upon the right formula for getting an even balance throughout. First too light, then too dark....
I shall persevere, with a bit of luck and the good Lord willing, shall have a reasonable resemblance by month's end!

Colouring is off on this one, bad light.
Anyway, still struggling with the door. Took a break from that and did in the doorway, and marked out some of the rocks on the other side of the doorway. There's still hope for it to be done by month's end!
Any tips appreciated
