Sharon,  I took the picture to the owner at the office I used to work at.  A guy I had worked with for years wants an 18 X 24 scratchboard of his three dogs for his wife's birthday which is in June.  Can't believe it!!  That will be a lot of scratching!!!!!! Word is starting to get around.  So many people like the scratch board!!  Thanks for your encouragement.

Sherri - if you continue to let folks see what you're capable of creating you'll have commissions lined up! Put this on your FB page and let everyone know you're available to create pet portraits. This is such a unique product you offer - and you're so darn good at it!  And don't underprice yourself - 3 dogs is 3x the price, especially at that size!

Sherri - What type of watercolours did you use on the scratch? Paints or pencils? (I am currently scratching a Kookaburra on an 8 1/2" x 12" board and need the browns to be highlighted so figured watercolours would be the best method to colour it but I am looking at pencils - the hand isn't steady enough for paints  )

I used paints.  I am not sure if pencils would work.  I just bought some ampersand scratchboard inks and used them on my last picture.  I really like them!!

Ahhh hadn't thought of using inks.  Considered watercolour pencils because (in my mind at least) thought I might have more control over where I placed the colour compared to a paint brush.

But the inks - have to give them a try on some scrap and see how they compare - thanks for this tip.
