My friend's min pin, Desi, died unexpectedly a few weeks ago and she's asked me to paint a picture of him.  I messed up on the background so used an acrylic glaze over the watercolor (she asked me to just have a plain, celestial, background.)  This guy took me a while to do - lots of little details.  So any suggestions for improvement would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
Sharon

Sharon,

You have done a fantastic job on Desi.  Other than his tongue being a bit too pale, I'd say you have done a magnificent painting.

Your friend should be really happy with this.

Such a cute little Mini Pinn.
Agree with Mea about the tongue, seems a little off shape and the mouth seems bright.
But this could be the photograph.
Boy, your friend is gonna cry when you give this to her.  :'(  Lovely depiction.

Sharon, I think you have done a great job because the reference photo wasn't all that good. I do agree with darkening the tongue slightly but otherwise, your painting is fantastic and your friend will love it for sure.

Thanks so much Mea, Robin and Patricia! I darkened the tongue a bit and reshaped it a little - I think he just has an odd tongue to begin with but it looks much better with a little tweaking.  I really appreciate this suggestion and your compliments. I know she's going to cry when she sees this, but now she'll have Desi with her forever...pets are as much as our children as our kids are and to lose one is just devastating...
Cheers,
Sharon

you have done a wonderful job here. So awful to lose a pet. This will be a nice keepsake.

Thanks robin and Natalie! I sent my client an email that Her painting was done and she asked me to send her a photo of it. She loves it!! Can't wait to give this to her in person. She said she prefers to frame it herself. Thanks again for all of the helpful suggestions!
Cheers,
Sharon
