Wow, Dan, I don't know much about oil paints for I am into watercolour but your Koi pond is FANTASTIC. Your lily pads look 3-D. Amazing!!  How did you achieve that???  Absolutely great work.

Thank you Bellarina...I still have a lot of work to do on the next paintings coming up.  I'd like to do another koi pond in the future.  I hope Nolan gives me a few pointers on where to improve.  This is my second oil painting.

Sorry I never got back to you about the lily pad shading, but you have done a great job now, looks great.

What I do is check back on other paintings on the same subject and you will pick up many things you may have forgotten between tbe lesson and execution!  Well done!

this really great, especially as it is only your second painting. What you should do is follow the lesson plan to do the initial classes in order as they build on each other. As you go along it becomes easier to jump around

For next time you do a painting like this, you can watch out for the water reflections. As water has surface tension, all the reflections are soft shadings and will not have hard edges
