How To Dull Gray

Was wondering what is the proper color to add to dull gray.
I was working on the Impressionistic Flower class and I needed a duller gray (not darker) and I could not dull the color. Adding the mixed black darkened it.

that is a tough one because grey is a neutral colour (it already contains all 3 primary colours). You would need to look carefully to see which is the dominant colour (red, blue or yellow) and then pop in some of the opposite
