I know you all will have a good giggle over this...
ok, so you're rolling on the floor.
I was determined to watch this class, which I have done..... WITH brush in hand! Yep, I was going to paint along!
Didn't take more than a few minutes to realize that was not going to happen!
Can you tell I haven't seen many of the newer classes? So, I'll go back to my corner with easel and board tucked under my arm, brushes and paintbox in hand, and go and start watching some lessons, starting say.... 20 lessons ago?!
What an incredible class!!! This was stupendous! Brilliant Dennis, and I have some serious work to do.
But I may just try some of these techniques in the previous lessons!
WOW!!!

Dear Dennis;
How long did you let the open Atelier acrylic set before you
went over it with the water color wash?
Also, what weight of paper should we use on this painting?
I am trying to avoid cauliflower. I have 140 lb and 200 lb but,
if you recommend a high weight I 'll see what I can scrounge up
before attempting this one.
Awesome Class, Thanks!!!

May Lynn, I just used the hairdryer for about a minute or two. Because it was a very thin wash it dries very quickly. I have 420 gsm paper in stock so I used that. I would not go less than 300 gsm. Glad you and Val liked that class. I enjoyed painting it

Dear Dennis;
Does the Rhino's body case a shadow onto the grass?
(if so which side)

May Lynn. the light is coming from the right.
Because of the long grass you will hardly see any shadow at all. Look at the original photo in the PDF and you will see no shadow.

Wow, Dennis, this was a FANTASTIC class. I was in awe just watching you perform your magic. Thanks for another wonderful lesson. Unfortunately, I did the line drawing before watching the video so my painting is vertical and therefore much smaller, my apololgies. This is my take on it and as always, comments and critiques are gratefully received. Thank you.

Patricia I think you did an awesome job! I watched the video and was so impressed with what Dennis was doing. Can understand why no one tried to paint along. I'm looking forward to attempting this one.

Patricia,
I admire you so much for taking on challenging paintings. This one does look interesting.
I think it needs some of the accent colors that I see in Dennis's version. What you have is a good base, but it needs more drama.

A bit more variance in values will give more distance and make your rhino 'pop'! I know, I'm like an old broken record...
Values, values, values, varify your values.
Varify your values and you'll pop right off the page.... la lala lala...
Makes you glad we don't have sound doesn't it?

Jill for your lovely comments. It was an awesome lesson and I too, can't understand why nobody else has given it a try. I love learning new techniques. Can't wait to see your painting which no doubt, will be outstanding.
So much Mea and Val for your critiques which I appreciate immensely. I am always scared to go "too dark" ... I tread very lightly in everything but I will get bolder eventually. Val, I wouldn't mind having sound in the least, perhaps things will then penetrate the old brain!!
