This is Pebbles 14x18 Acrylic on Canvas...
This took a while to layer all the different colors in her coat!

Pebbles is adorable - and your painting is great! I love the detailed work on the blanket and the fun background colors...well done! Is this a commission?
Cheers,
Sharon

Yes I guess you would say its commission for a friend.. I haven't really figured out a good way to price my paintings so right now I just take pleasure in giving them away and I take whatever they want to give. I'm still learning so I really haven't got comfortable charging $ and its so hard to figure out how much to charge people... I should come up with something soon tho because more and more people are asking me to paint!?!

I had a hard time with background because I didn't want it to be too distracting so I kinda blurred the afgan blankets and left out detail in the blanket she was laying on... I really need to work on light and shadows and backgrounds tho... I really don't think I did a very good job on shadows..I'm wondering what are some good methods for figuring out shadows and methods for painting them in correctly...

Thanks so much for all your help and kind comments...
This forum is really great and filled with lots of talented and kind people...
