Was contacted last week by a private school for a piece of art for their fundraiser.  As you know, I just have a bunch of portraits, not exactly good for this cause.  I didn't have much time so I did a charcoal drawing of a local coffeehouse.  Getting it framed and hope they like it.  Chose it because it is down the street from the school.

That's great, Lynn.  I found at charity auctions, people like to buy places they recognize in their community.

Looks like a nice cozy place (even though I don't drink coffee).

Lynn, this has such a warm, welcoming feel about it. Beautifully done!  :smitten:

They are going to love this, always blows me away how much detail you manage to put in even in charcoal. Right down to the dog under the table. Fantastic.

Thanks all.  I sent it off for framing.  Val, I didn't draw a dog but I think I see what you mean, is he on the far left corner?  That is actually half of a backpack on the ground with some of the straps laying in front of it.   :2funny: :2funny:   I like the idea of a dog there though and hope others think it IS!!

    A backpack.....  Now I'll give you a real giggle... I first thought it looked like my cheeky little monkey sitting there! Then decided no, why would a monkey be sitting there? The more I looked at it, its resemblance was more like a dog. I really need to get my eyes checked again, I knew they were getting bad again. But honestly..... a backpack!        :2funny:

Late in seeing this Val.  When I looked again, it actually DOES look like a monkey.  Makes the piece much more interesting :2funny:
