Like Barry and Cyril, I'm trying my hand at portraits.

This is of my son's girlfriend... my first attempt other than the Classes. Comments and suggestions welcome!

I think the reference phot was a studio shot with lighting all round... this makes it hard to see changes in lights and darks - and in the reference, her nose blends 'too well' with her cheek.

You are off to a good start excellent likeness.   Very pretty girl.  I think she'd want more curl in her hair, though.  A little too dark under her eyes.

Nice work ajm, is this not fun (although frustrating at times)! I agree with Mea 100%, and i would also make her hair much darker. Looking forward to the revision.
