    Mea, isn't this just so exciting??   The difference is night and day and to put to use what we have been taught by our masters and the fact that they work so fantastically well for us, mere novices,  makes it all the more sweeter.  Wonderful to learn new stuff. Your excitement is contagious for I feel all hyped up too.  Nice way to start the day.

Here's my submission for the lesson which was so interesting, thank you Dennis.  Mea, I hope I have lived up to your expectation of me and look forward to receiving your comments. All comments and critiques are happily received. Thank you, Patricia

Yours is ever so beautiful, Patricia.  Much shinier than mine and your blending is smoother.  The tip of your spout is so perfect.

Looks like we both had trouble with the black balls on the handle, but you did a better job on getting the blue glow to look more realistic.

I hope our enthusiasm inspires others to try this one.

Thanks, Mary Lou.  Considering that I used pencil on hemp paper and not pastels, I am pleased with the result.

Mea, beautiful and smart way of before and after on the kettle. You are such good artist, because you did not give up in spite of not having the right materials. The final version came alive and shiny. I can't wait to do this lesson; the country I'm living now has much to do with many copper kettles around the world. This one would be a nice gift to hang on every kitchen room.

Saludos

:thankyou: Mea for those lovely comments and yes, I hope we can inspire others to do the lesson.  I may add that only after posting my picture did I see that the rounding of my kettle is off and I don't understand why I can't see it before I take a photograph. Are others the same or is it just me?  Anyway, I shall fix that flaw but I won't repost.

Patricia,

I did not notice it either.  Do you mean the kind of squared off corner under the spout?   That should be an easy fix.

The kettle is just beautifully done!!!!

No, Mea, it is, as you look at the picture, on the left side which has the four white "windows" with a white line above it ... follow that white line and you will see that it is so much broader which narrows towards the spout. It was an easy fix for I have done it already.

:thankyou:   Dennis for your comments on the AOL site, the picture in real life has the front of the bricks where the light catches them so much lighter than the photograph. I didn't want to take the photo when it was dark but had no option for this morning when I took it, it was still pretty dark as it is an over cast day here today. I had the light on too but it made no difference. Sorry about that.

Yes Mea, as Nolan would say it was "easy peasy" to fix.  It amazes me that I can't see these things BEFORE I post the painting but see my flaws blatantly once it is up on the forum. Anyway it is all fixed up now.
