Nolan,
I was wondering if you could tell us what the materials are for the next two mix media lessons are. That way I can get all the materials at one time when I go to town. I live about an hour from the city. It would be a lot easier.
Nina
Ps I really am enjoying these lessons. I have my sunflower all most done.

Very good Maryna and Makayla. Seems like the two of you have mastered the mixed media. Great job.

Maryna and Makayla,
Your mixed media seascapes look very good. Are those real shells glued on?? Look so real.
I am still struggling with the sunflower!

beautiful work Makayla & Maryna
I see your texture paste has cracked - did it do that before or after painting?

Mea, yes it is real shells. Used modge podge to stick it, the texture gel was too expensive.
Nolan, before we painted. I actually bought the wrong stuff, thought it was premixed polifilla but it was a wall skimming product, it cracked with the sunflower too, but I decided to just use what I had on hand. One is seppose to apply it only a few mm. Oh well, one of those things I guess.

Beautiful job Mikayla and Maryna!
Mikayla, you have lovely shades of blue in your ocean and Maryna, I really love how your shells truly look randomly spaced about. I'm having a little trouble with that...

to both of you.
And good for you to experiment, not always easy to make subtitutions but remember that it can also lead to great discovery.

I just previewed the video for this class and am anxious to walk down to the ocean in the morning to get the sand.
May use pieces of coral as that is more plentiful than shells here.
I did lay the filler paste on for the foam so that will be drying tonight.
This one is going to be fun. I'm beginning to like this mixed media form of art.

Wow, Denise, that came out really well.
I'll take a quick run to the beach now that the rain has stopped and pick up some sand.
Hope to finish mine this weekend.
Yes, these multi-media are fun.
So nice of Nolan to have new toys for us for Christmas!!
