Wow, this is gorgeous, Nolan.

I like the way the dark background sets it off.

My first attempt at following a class in Arylic was the strawberry, this is my second attempt, I did it on watercolour paper and not canvas so was unable to get the background right and the blending did not go to plan, actually a lot didnt go to plan. :P

 I have used acrylics for painting many times before but normally only smaller detailed work, so this was a challange.

The flower itself is well done.  Agree that the paper did not lend itself to a smoothly blended background.  But, the textured look of it is not all that bad really.

This was a challenge for getting the type of blending I wanted.  Anyone tried this flower in oils?

Great job on the strelitzia.

Yes, I did it in oil and loved it.  One of my best.
