I struggled with this in acrylic. I was wondering about using a retarder that slows the drying time. I may try this in the future but will have to mix my colors first then add the product as it seems to change the color until it dries. This is something I have to play with for now.

Nolan - yea I can surely brave that! Yea you are right, too much space around the flower, another tiny non competing companion would be nice

I don't think there is too much white space. I like the white space, it gives the painting an airy feel

Hi, here is my Strelitzia.
I think the background colour is a bit too close to the colour of the flower, but for the rest it went pretty smooth.
