Thanks, Patricia.  Pansies are really pretty easy once you understand the shape.  To ve doing them freehand is now quite a milestone for me,

What you want to work on is sketching each feature in the correct place. I am assuming you were in front of a mirror? If so, use a proportional divider to help you in the beginning or alternately use it to check yourself after doing the initial light sketch lines, but before you start the shading work. That way you will always get a likeness O0

Sometimes I surprise myself when I draw something almost effortlessly and it actually looks art worthy.

Am pleased with this one. I'm getting it!!! (Well. maybe the scale is a bit off, though.)
