Looking pretty good to me Val, the bird is soft looking just a bit of rounding on the beak. Nothing wrong with the background

Val, you are now over the hump and "flying". Excellent
There should be very little blending with the final touches in pastel

Thanks much Mea and Danielle. The blue and green was really playing tricks with my eyes. Will leave the background as is.

Excellent job on the Gannet Val. Your painting of the bird is so crisp and clear. Patricia

Thanks Patricia, Steve, and Kathy. Much appreciated. I'll see if I can finish it off tonight as it's another night of anchor watch. We have a pretty good blow going, 36knts. at this point. Not too bouncy in here so far.

It is 0340 .... and I am done!
Lighting is not the best but I am done with this. Many errors but discovering new ways to work around some of the issues I've been having with the pans. Onward and upward!

Thanks Dennis!
Thank you EmmaLee, I appreciate your support.
Question for Gita.... Do you find you have a problem when freehanding that your subject seems to keep getting bigger?
I was sure I measured this fellow for size correctly... he seems to have grown exponentially during the drawing process. I didn't think his upper wing was going to fit on the paper!
Maybe my math and compass skills are just a smidge rusty.....
