Sorry I did not reply sooner, I did not see any more post on my thread.

:thankyou:  Val for your continuous encouragement.

:thankyou: Christina for the lovely comment.

:thankyou: Emma for the compliment.  I have always liked to draw free hand since I was a kid but I still need lots of practice because I had not drawn for a long time since my kids.  Now I have time.  Also I did not think it was OK to trace until I learn from Nolan and Dennis that many artist do.  It sure saved me time and I was able to learn more on the tonal values which gave my more depth in my drawing.  I am not good to draw from my imagination, I need a photo to guide me, and this is my goal.   Thank you for asking.
You do amazing work yourself and you are young with your whole life a head of you.  Do not ever stop.

It's amazing to see paintings that turn out better or more interesting than the photograph! Well done!

Danielle:  Your woodpecker is beautiful.  I think colored pencils are fun to work with.

:thankyou: Kathy, yes coloured pencil is fun but it takes a long time.  I have been working on a few and presently on a Koala, hopefully I will finish this week.
