Barry,

I agree - the butterfly is the star of the show - subdued flowers make a good backdrop.

Love the brilliance of the color.

So happy you are doing art again

I wonder what you had in mind for the background because, like the others, I like the soft background.

The butterfly is lovely and so are the lanterns, which I miss seeing before.  You sure have a lot of patience working with CP
Cheers, Annie

Barry, it is lovely to see you back.  Your lanterns are OUTSTANDING!!!  You have done such a good job on them, the frosted glass is fantastic.  Your butterfly is also so good.

I think I did a bit better on the flowers, but still find them extremely difficult and may spend an hour on one petal.  I used stonehenge vellum white 250gsm, and  both prisma color and polychromos, with the background in graphite.

Any words of wisdom, and critique to improve is alway welcome.

Great work, Barry.  Lots of color and drama with the little bird.

Other than maybe a bit of dark in the center of the two large flowers to add some depth, I'd say this is excellent.  Nice muted background that does not compete for attention.

Happy you could find the time to do it.  Well worth the effort.
