Started the Portrait course, now getting a bit overwhelmed with getting the shadings right. It's a big learning curve :)

You are doing an amazing job with your shadings :congrats:

Don't get overwhelmed at all. Remember it takes practice, so just keep drawing and the shadings will gradually come right on their own O0

:thankyou: Nolan, I feel blessed to learn through Paint Basket.
Your reassuring words on the videos give me assurance. Each time I do a pencil/class/course I feel like I've learning a whole new concept. When I start a drawing I try to remind myself to not begin with a preconceived habit - My programmed (Older) head wants to draw & colour in a totally different way to how you proceed in the videos.  And I'm SLOWLY learning to approach the drawings trusting that by layering the light base 1st & then building some shading - I think to myself, this will never look like Nolan's drawing, but somehow the effect dramatically changes  & I am so surprised at what presents. :)
