Lacework is too fine, so I went for the next best and pretended it was lace, because I had mislaid my magnifying glass and the 2-hair brush

This was actually a very relaxing lesson - and a great idea of something unique to paint! Hardest part was tracing it on the watercolor paper! Thanks, Dennis - I actually learned a lot in this class!

OMG, Sharon. That's beautifully done. And in watercolor - what a challenge!
I was looking at that lesson and thinking I couldn't do that! Hmmm... maybe I will try it.
Embroidery is the proper term for that type of handiwork, I think.

Thank you Steve, Dennis, Susan and Mea! My husband says it reminds him of his mother's doilies! I want to look around for some similar material to try a painting like this on my own!

I can see why your friend would say that. I agree. As you stated on OLA, it was the most relaxing class you ever took. That shows in your painting. It is peaceful.
